2009 Rally Mexico

USD75,000 is the total prize fund on the Rally of Nations being run in Mexico on 9-12 July. Entries from over twelve countries will contest the event which is being organised during the world championship Corona Rally Mexico’s rotation gap year. Using the same roads which are used by the world championship teams, competitors will compete against each other for financial incentive prizes based on individual stage times and overall results. And new this year in addition to the orthodox stages and a superspecial will be a new street stage. Top European entries include reigning Production Car world champion Andreas Aigner, former world champion Didier Auriol, former Production Car champion Manfred Stohl, Harri Rovanpera (who won the trial pre-championship event in 2002), Toni Gardemeister, Dani Sola and Xavi Pons. The event will again be based at Leon in the province of Guanajuato, the former staging post for the for the Carrera Panamericana road race in the ’fifties.
