Monday, 9th of March, 20:00 hours - the complete entry list for 2009's edition of TESS Rally has 58 crews listed. 34 crews registered for group N, 14 for group A and 10 for group H. The complete list can be seen on www.raliulbrasovului.ro.
Rallying in economic crysis times
The season opener, according to the 40 years old tradition, takes place in Brasov. In an economic crysis situation, the buget for organizing a national championship event seems a very hard task, almost impossible to achieve. However, with the help of the events partners, the tradition has been saved in Brasov, with the rally making the opening of the national rally championship 2009 season.
This rally wouldn't have been possible without its main parteners TESS (Audi & Volkswagen dealer) and Porsche Leasing and its other partners Magnolia Shopping Center - partner and host of the event, Dunlop and Espavo (Karcher dealer). The help of the local authorities must be also reminded, the

"We are very happy for the nearly 60 competitors entered, which for sure have heavily "sweated" for building a budget for this race. We know what searching for money during the financial crysis means and we wish them to have a budget for the rest of the events also." stated Mr. Bela Stoica, president of the organising club - Auto Blic, which organises this event for the ninth time consequently.
"We also wish the best for the organisers of the other events of the season, who have a very difficult task building the budgets."
News from Brasov
At just 18 years, Lucian Girbacea Jr., romanian motocross champion, will make his debut in rallying. The youngster from Brasov, following the steps of his rally sprint romanian champion father, Lucian Girbacea, will team-up with the experienced Mihai Lazarescu for this season.
Danny Ungur will have a new co-driver, Toni Avram, who navigated for Titi Aur for the last seasons.
TESS Rally Program
The pre-rally shakedown will take place on Friday, between 12:00 and 18:00, on a road between Satu Nou and Crizbav, close to Feldioara, 10 km from Brasov.
The ceremonial start is scheduled for Saturday at 9:31 hours, at Magnolia Shopping Center and at 10:45 the first crew is due to start the first stage of the 2009 season - Zarnesti. Next is Poiana Marului stage, and the famous Rasnov-Poiana Brasov-Brasov will be run at 14:23.
For the ones who won't make it to the stages, from 14:00 hours, at Magnolia Shopping Center, will be a live concert with the Zero band, followed by the SSS "Magnolia Shopping Center".
The second day, Sunday, has two stages, the start on the first one, "Babarunca" is scheduled for 10:01, and the second one, "Cheia" the reverse of the first for 16:30, after regrouping.
The prize giving will take place also at Magnolia Shopping Center, from 16:30.
