Press release
Alex Filip tested the new Citroen C2 R2 Max model in France and started preparing for the new season with his Citroen C2 R2, the car he will compete with in the Romanian Rally Championship.
Alex Filip had a very busy week, just two weeks before the start of the season in the Romanian Rally Championship: two days of tests with the
Citroen C2 R2 Max plus test session with the
Citroen C2 R2, the car he will compete with this year in the internal championship. The C2 R2 Max test, the new rally car presented by Citroen took place in France on Val d’Or circuit in Satory in the presence of the pilots Simon Jean-Joseph, European rally champion in 2007 and Sebastien Ogier.
”It was a very useful test for me. I took place on the right of Simon Jean-Joseph, and afterwards I piloted the car myself. I was very impressed by the Citroen C2 R2 Max's brakes, direction and stability on turns. The advice regarding piloting technique on tarmac given by Simon Jean-Joseph and Philippe Bugalski helped me the most”, said
Alex Filip, after the two days of tests at Citroen Sport.
Immediately after the experience lived in France, Alex Filip started the tests with Citroen C2 R2, the car he will compete with in the Romanian Rally Championship. The tests took place on the national way between Hapria and Straja, in Alba county, where Alex Filip drove over 100 kilometers in special stage regime.
”It was the most professional test I've ever done. I tried, first of all, to find the right set-ups of the car on tarmac in order to be prepared for Brasov TESS Rally”, added
Alex Filip.

The first tarmac test with the new car took place on a dry surface, having some turns covered with gravel and stones.
”I liked the way Pirelli tires behaved on tarmac and I think I've made the best choice to start the first stage of the season”, said
Alex Filip who in 2008 will race on
Pirelli tires.
Alba Iulia tests took place under the close observation of Pro Motor Ramnicu Valcea team, the official tuner of Citroen C2 R2 in Romania. Besides the technical Pro Motor team, Claudiu David was also present at the test.
”
I always had problems in approaching slow turns, but after the tests in France and after the advice given by Claudiu, I think I can overpass these problems. I would like to thank Alba Local Council, Police Alba, ACR - Alba agency, Pro Motor team and to Mihai Beldie for the support given in this year's first test session”, added
