 Banat Montan UCM Resita Rally starts at Orange Shop

Banat Montan UCM Resita Rally is the logesttarmac rally in the National
Rally Championship. Alex Filip wants to finish the second stage of 2008
season on the podium of group A.

The start of Banat Montan UCM Resita Rally, the second stage in the National Rally Championship will take place on Friday, April 11th, at 3:00 PM. 4 special stages are scheduled for the first day of competition, having a total length of 56,25 kilometers. On Saturday, April 12th, other 112,55 kilometers divided in 8 special stages will be run. ”There are almost 170 kilometers of special stages, the rally being a very tiring one, especially from physical point of view. We are ready for this stage for everything, from  all points of view”, said Alex Filip, before the official recce. The longest tarmac rally in the National Rally Championship represents a challange for Gicu Nemes, the copilot of crew 79 as well. ”Resita stage is a very  technical one. We must be very efficient during the recce in order to have a good dictation along the rally. We must stay focused until the end because we really need the points we can gain here”, said Gicu Nemes.
The problems with the electronics of the Citroën C2 R2 model, problems that have stopped crew Alex Filip/Gicu Nemes to obtain points in the first stage of the season taking place in March in Brasov, were all solved by the technical team of Pro Motor Ramnicu Valcea. ”We lost the chance of finishing Brasov stage on the podium because of a speed sensor. The problems have been solved and I hope we will miss such technical problems in Resita. We have done a few kilometers of tests and I am pleased with the car's behaviour. I am convinced that if all works as it should, we can finish gaining points in group A”, added Alex Filip. After the two days of recce, the start of Banat Montan UCM Resita Rally, Alex Filip will take the start on Thursday, April 10th, at Orange Shop Resita on 6th Republicii Boulevard. Starting with 3:00 PM all fans of motorsport or not can take pictures of Alex Filip and his Citroën C2 R2 group A and they can have a poster signed by the 79 pilot.
