Citroen Sport again in Romania
The first podium with the Citroen C2 R2 model

Alex Filip prepared himself for Sibiu Pirelli Rally together with the French champion Philippe Bugalski. At the end of the two days of tests, the engine of the Citroen C2 R2 was sent for a total revision in Oreca, France.
Alex Filip and Gicu Nemes first raced their Citroen C2 R2 model in Sibiu Pirelli last year. This year they have prepared the 5th stage of the Romanian Rally Championship together with Philippe Bugalski, the testing pilot of Citroen Sport and the Citroen Sport engineer Samuel Barraud. „I drove the car for approximately 15 kilometers and I liked the way it behaved after the set-ups of Bugalski and Barraud. I am impressed by their professionalism, involvement and modesty. Unfortunately, because of the modified program, I didn't have the opportunity of being the co-pilot of Bugalski, but he gave me a lot of useful advice I'm sure I will use in the next future”, said Alex Filip.
During the tests in Ciunget, the Citroen Sport engineer - Samuel Barraud noticed the fact that the engine does not develop more than approximately 150 HP instead of 185 CP accordingly to the technical book , therefor we took the decision of urgently sending it to Oreca in France for revision. „Sibiu Pirelli Rally is a extremely important race of our internal competition. After the Cluj podium I would like to obtain the same good result in Sibiu. That's why the engine left so urgently for revision in France, even the time is so short. The revision was done on Wednesday and on Thursday the engine will arrive in Sibiu in order to be replaced on the car”, said Alex Filip.
For Alex Filip Sibiu Pirelli Rally starts on Thursday, July 17th at 4:00 PM, when the 79 crew's Citroen C2R2 model will be exposed in the Orange Shop in Mihai Viteazu Bd. The show will be continued at 07:00 PM with the official presentation in Piata Mare, Sibiu.
