Crew 79 visited Hospice Foundation „Casa Sperantei”
Start in Citroen Racing Trophy
Objective: preserving the group A leader position
Alex Filip and Bogdan Iancu managed to go up the general ranking of group A after Sibiu Rally. The objective of crew 79 is to preserve this position after Tara Barsei Rally.
Tara Barsei Rally, the 6th stage of the Romanian National Rally Championship, started for crew 79 with a visit at Hospice Foundation „Casa Sperantei”. Alex Filip and Bogdan Iancu had the opportunity to meet Andrei, Marton, Ramona, Alexia, Tibi and all the other kids present in the day center of Hospice Foundation „Casa Sperantei”, children they have stood for in the „Race and Help” Campaign. „I was impressed by the smile of these children and I've realised my problems are nothing in comparison with theirs. I will do everything in my power to continue
the „Race and Help” campaign because I want to see these children smile over and over again”, said Alex Filip, after the visit to the Hospice Foundation „Casa Sperantei” Brasov.
The stage scheduled on the super specials of Brasov and Covasna is the first one this season of the Citroen Racing Trophy, competition Alex Filip and Bogdan Iancu will be part of. „I am very excited about the organized Trophy, now among the 7 countries in Europa organising it, we can also count Romania. I hope I can obtain a good position in group A because the stake is very tempting. This year is almost impossible, but for 2010 our objective is to take part in at least one European Championship stage organizing the Citroen Racing Trophy”, added Alex Filip.
Tara Barsei rally has a compact format and it will start on Friday, August 21st, with Brasov Rally Show, super special organized on the streets of Brasov. The first car will take the start at 07:09 PM, and the track is 1,2 kilometers long. „Alex is not very comfortable with the super specials, but this kind of stages are extremely important for the media promotion of his sport. Brasov is a city with tradition in motor sport and I hope we will have as many spectators as possible on the rally tracks”, said Bogdan Iancu, the copilot of crew 79.
Saturday, the second day of the rally, there are three special stages in Comandau and Bracani starting with 09:01AM. Tara Barsei Rally has a total length of 349,75 kilometers among which 112,2 divided in 7 special stages. „Taking into consideration our main competitors for this rally, our counter candidates for the title will approach the rally with much more powerful cars, we will try to supply this disadvantage by concentrating and racing each stage to the limit. In other words „maximum attack” starting with the super special. I like the long stage because there aren't many uphill segments and even if we will lose a little more timr on the short stage, I am sure we will manage to obtain a position on the podium”, added Alex Filip.
In 2009, crew Alex Filip/Bogdan Iancu counts on the support of partners: Orange Romania, Citroën Romania, Coza Advertising, Cefin, Converse and Colina Motors.
