At Birmigham, in the second day of the Autosport International Show Petter Solberg states that he has been made an offer of a drive in this year's WRC but will wait until tomorrow to make up his mind if he will accept it. Solberg was at the Autosport Intenational Show for discussions with various teams to try and secure a seat for Rally Norway and the rest of the season. Indications are that it might be an M-Sport deal, being offered to drive a Focus possibly for the Ramsport team.
David Whitehead, proprietor of MSD, stated that homologated for the Opel Corsa S2000 is due for 1st February. Recent technical changes made before homologation are a different shape and sized of the plenum chamber and optimised transmission gear ratios. The third and fourth Opel S2000s are now under construction, the second having been sold to Greece last year. A total of five MG ZR Super 2000 also produced by MSD have already been sold, and currently MSD, like Citroen and Ford, are waiting to be told which turbocharger supplier has been appointed by the FIA for use in Super 2000 + world rally cars.

Peugeot were present in the Autosport Show to show the 207 RC Rallye with their entry level customer turbocharged front-wheel, drive car. News is that France, Italy and Spain are already planning to run one-make championship for these cars, with discussions currently being held for other countries as well, and maybe up to 100 cars will be prepared, ready to rally. Arrangements have been made for the car to run in the class A3 if Group R cars are not accepted, even though the FIA's turbo coefficient suggests in should run in the over 2-litre category. The model is expected to be the first car to be homologated in the new Group R3T, on 1st March 2009.
Conrad Rautenbach starts the season with a new codriver, Daniel Barritt. David Senior parted with Conrad after Wales Rally GB last year, and is expected to compete in Middle East Rally Championship events with the current driver of Barritt, Nizar Al Shanari.
