The crew Catalin Berari/Florin Hangu didn't manage to finish the first round from the Romanian Rally Sprint Championship that took place on 17 February in Bucharest.
At the wheel of a Mitsubishi Evo VI, Catalin has started the race excelently and was leading after 3 stages, but his car slipped at the exit of a corner and hit the kerbstone resulting in a broken front left suspension arm. The crew was forced to retire.
Even if he didn't finish the race, Catalin was happy with the rallysprint.
"We were pretty fast and we have abandoned because we pushed to hard. It was a short but good practice after a big rest period. There will be a very interesting championship this year in the H group, knowing that Alexandru Pitigoi will race a Ford Focus WRC, and Horatiu Ionescu Cristea will also race. I'm glad because the competition will be much harder than last year."
