Gaurav Gill, this year's winner of the APRC Indonesia Rally and thereby first Indian driver to win a major foreign rally, is to replace his compatriot Naren Kumar at the wheel of the Sidvin team Subaru Impreza N14 entry on Wales Rally GB. The official reason was that there were problems following the rebuild of Kumar's car after Rally Japan, and that it had always been the wish of Sidvin chief Mohan Nagarajan to give Gill a trial drive on a world championship rally. Gill was recently present in Rally Japan, making the reconnaissance for the event. Kumar's British codriver Nicky Beech will codrive for Gill.
