Six Super 2000 manufacturers at Ypres
Both Skoda Fabia S2000s of Kopecky and Hänninen have been added to the 15 Super 2000 cars already provisionally entered for Ypres, thus joining the 10 Peugeot 207 S2000 already confirmed. Nicolas Vouilloz, Freddy Loix, Kris Meeke, Thierry Neuville (BF Goodrich guest) and Pieter Tsjoen will drive for Kronos. Luca Betti, Corrado Fontana, Michal Solowow, Brian Lavio and Davide De Benedetto are private entries. In the same time Bernd Casier has claimed the second official Fiat Grande Punto instead of Anton Alen and will partner Giandomenico Basso. Rene Georges team enters the VW Polo Super 2000 for Patrick Snijers and the Skoda Fabia Super 2000 for Francois Duval, while Alexandre Bengue will drive the Opel Astra Super 2000 at his debut rally.

Everybody waits for the entry of one Proton Satria. The organizers have the agreement of the MEM boss Chris Mellors but the name of the driver will be made public only next week. He has to decide between Guy Wilks and Bryan Bouffier.

The fifth 2009 IRC round will have extend coverage by Eurosport. The planned schedule is:

55 Entries for Poland
Entry details for the world championship Rally Poland (25-28 June) list 55 crews, including four of the five registered world championship teams and ten JWRC drivers, including two crews nominated as Guests by the organisers. Guest drivers are Radoslaw Typa (Suzuki S1600) and Marcin Dobrowoski (Citroen C2 R2). Highest seeded Polish driver will be 47 year old Krzysztof Holowczyc, 1997 European rally champion and now member of the European parliament. He is entered by the Stobart team as their third, non-nominated entry. Top regular championship Polish driver is Michal Kosciuszko in Suzuki Swift S1600. This will be the 66th edition of Rally Poland and the fifth time the event has been based at Mikolajki in north Poland’s lake district.
