The 22 years old finn has constantly increased his lead on his pursuers, holding at the end of the day a commanding 48 seconds lead over Miko Hirvonen. And with two days to go, he is in a very good position to obtain his first win in the WRC. Noone really could keep up the pace dictated by the finnish driver, Jari-Matti being the winner of all six "proper" stages in the day. "It's been a really good day," said Latvala. "I've been enjoying all the stages. In stage three my heart was beating quite hard, and it just feels like I have a good confidence now. It's really fun." It was an incredible day for Ford, who capitalised on the morning retirement of world champion Sebastien Loeb to see their drivers occupy the top four positions on the leaderboard. Henning Solberg is third and Gigi Galli fourth.
Comming up is the Service park in Karlstad, and after that the main actors of the WRC will run again in the superspecial stage on Karlstad's horse-trotting track. The best drivers of the world will offer entertainment to the fans that will assist at the special built arena.
