Markus Benes will participate at Sibiu

The Raliul Sibiului Pirelli 2008, scheduled between 17 - 19 julie, is the event with the most higher number of  foreign crews. Excepting Jarkko Miettinen and Szabo Gergo, at Sibiu will come the austrian Markus Benes.

The finn Jarkko Miettinen, leader of the standings, and the hungarian driver Szabo Gergo are already familiar presence in The National Rally Championship. At the Raliul Sibiului Pirelli 2008 on the entry list is also the austrian crew Markus Benes/Norbert Wannenmacher wich will participate for the first time in Romania. Markus Benes, 34 years, has started his carrier in 2001. The austrian has debutat on an Opel, then he passed on a Audi Quattro, Mazda 323 BG and GTR. From 2003, Marks Benes has Norbert Wannenmacher as codriver, with wich he became vice-champion of the "Austrian Rallye Challenge" in 2005.

After this smash they have compete with a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VI preparted by Sthol Racing. After a partnership with Grohe they have changed the old Mitsubishi with a Subaru Impreza WRX STI 2008 Type SR. "We have heard that Raliul Sibiului Pirelli is the best event from The National Rally Championship and thats why we decided to participate here. Manfred Sthol told us that the organization and special stages are senzational and, it is a gravel rally, our speciality."

In 2008, Markus Benes/Norbert Wannenmache have participated also in Sweden. "We want that at Sibiu do to a better accomodation with the new Subaru. Tests are helpful, but nothing is like a real rally." hase completed Markus Benes.

The slovakian crew Michal Riecica/Emil Horniacek (Subaru Impreza N12B) has showing his interest for the rally but has not oficialy confirmed.
