The first five places on Finland’s championship OK-Auto Rally were taken by car numbers 1 2-3-5-6, headed by Jari Ketomaa’s Subaru. Cars 4 and 7 retired... Suzuki JWRC drivers Kosziuszko and Burkart competed for pre-NORF experience and finished 5th and 8th in their class.

Volkswagen Polo Super 2000 cars, headed by that of Hergen Fekken, filled the top three places in the South African championship VW Rally, based at Port Elizabeth. Rival Toyota S2000 cars took the next three places.

Revenge after their exclusions on technicality at the previous round, Subaru cars won the Argentina championship mixed-surfaced Tucuman Rally 1-2. Laughlin O’Sullivan won both days of Idaho International Rally, third round of the USRC in a Dodge SRT4.

Peugeot 207 Super 2000s finished 1-2 in the French championship Rallye du Rouergue, ahead of a 307 World Rally Car. Winner was Guillaume Canivenq’s car.

More joy for Skoda in Italy. Piero Longhi drove to victory on the all-gravel Rally di San Crispino. More anguish for Fiat. Rally leader Luca Rossetti lost because of a last stage puncture.

Two weeks after Rally Poland the national Karkonoski Rally was held. Tomasz Kuchar (Peugeot) beat French driver Bryan Bouffier (Mitsubishi) by 1.9 seconds.
