Sergio Vallejo has won the Rally Islas Canarias, the second round of the Spanish tarmac championship, for the third time in-a-row in his Porsche 997GT3. Miguel Fuster finished second with his Porsche and leads the championship after two rounds. Santiago Concepcion took third in another Porsche with Xevi Pons fourth in the Group N+ Mitsubishi EvoX. Enrique Garcia Ojeda brought his Subaru Rally Team Spain machine home in fifth. Matthias Kahle in a Porsche 997 was eight. Overall classification after round 2: Fuster 65p, Pons 55p, Ojeda 48p, Vallejo 35p, Avino 27p, Concepcion 27p, etc

Former Ford and Citroen works driver Francois Duval is back and winning! He won the second round of the Belgian championship Wallonie Rally at the wheel of a Toyota Corolla WRC, ahead of the Ford Focus WRC of Pieter Tsjoen. The favourite Patrick Snijers had again problems when the engine of his Subaru Impreza WRC S12 did not start and had to retire. The workd rally cars had occupied the first six places, the first non WRC being the Renault Clio R3 driven by Kris Princen. Hermann Gassner junior (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo) won his second German championship rally of the season ADAC Hessen Rally Vogelsberg in front of Sandro Wallenwein (Subaru Impreza N14). Gassner Jr was taking part only in his second event in the German championship. Third was Peter Corazza who won the previous round and still holds the overall leadership. Overall standings after 3 rounds from 7: Corazza 71p, Wallenwein 64p, Gassner Jr 60 p, etc

The second round of the Hungarian Championship, Miskolc Rally, was won by Norbert Herczig – Subaru Impreza WRC by almost one minute from the second placed Frigyes Turan – Peugeot 307 WRC. Another Subaru Impreza WRC driven by Erdi Tibor was third in front of the first round winner Csaba Spitzmuller – Mitsubishi Lancer WRC.

Ricardo Trivino has won the first round of the NACAM and Mexican Rally Championship. The former PCWRC driver won the Rally Sierra del Tigre by a comfortable margin driving his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X. Fernando Vivanco and Alejandro Torres has finished second and third both driving Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX. Next round of the NACAM championship will be Rally Guatemala on the 29 – 31 of May.

Rajd Krakowski the first round of the 2009 Polish Rally Championship was canceled by the organizer due to lack of sponsorship and budget. Next round is the Rally Elmot Remy on the 15 – 17 of May.

Johnny Gemmell (Toyota Auris S2000) beat Hergen Fekken (VW Polo S2000) by four seconds on the Sasol Rally in South Africa.
