Austria
VW Polo S2000 driver Andreas Waldherr won the BP Ultimate Lavanttal Rally, second round of the Austrian championship, avenging his late retirement on the opening round in early January. He finished nearly a half minute ahead of 20 year old Mitsubishi driver Herrmann Gassner Junior and a minute in front of Austrian champion Raimund Baumschlager's Skoda Fabia S2000. Baumschlager lost around a minute on the opening stages with power steering failure.




Switzerland
Two wheel drive beat four wheel drive at the Rallye Pays du Gier, run in France but the opening round of the Swiss series. Winner Yvan Ballinari drove a Renault Clio R3, beating Brian Lavio's Peugeot 207 S2000. The Group N class was won by fourth placed Florian Gunon in a Subaru.

Spain
First time out in a Porsche, former Fiat S2000 driver and 2007 Spanish national champion Miguel Fuster won the Rallye La Vila Joiosa, beating Xevi Pons' Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X by 3.4 seconds. Manuel Avino in an other Porsche was third while reigning champion Ojeda was fourth in another Subaru.

Greece
John Papadimitriou won the second round of the Greek series, the Olympic Rally in Western Peloponnese, in his Mitsubishi Evo IX, more than two minutes in front of Gregory Niorkas's Subaru N12. Papadimitriou was codriven by Ulsterman Allan Harryman. Favourite Aris Vovos retired with gearbox trouble.

Circuit of Kerry - Ireland
Subaru Impreza World Rally Cars of Patrick Elliott an Nial Maguire finished 1-2 while Mike Quinn finished a remarkable third in an old Escort Mark II, heading the Group N cars. Elliott won by 6 seconds, taking the lead on the final stage. Donie O'Sullivan finished 6th in Group N with his Proton Satria Neo slowed by wiper problems in the rain.

Rio Tercero - Argentina
Subaru Impreza N14 cars scored a 1-2 in the second Argentine championship rally, based south of Cordoba. 2001 FIA Group N champion Gabriel Pozzo headed Claudio Menzi while Federico Villagra came third in his debut in a Mitsubishi Evo X. Marcus Ligato retired at a water crossing in his Evo X.
