19 year old Citroen Junior team driver Evgeniy Novikov has withdrawn from Rally GB, following recent disappointing results in which he has gone off the road. His was to be one of seven Citroen C4 WRC entries for the final round of the world championship, but he told the team that he needed a break so he could regroup his energies into the future. After learning the world championship rallies in the Production Car series in 2008, starting when he was 17 years old, Novikov joined the Citroen Junior team with World Rally Cars in 2009. He contested eight of the 12 rounds, his best rally of the season was Sardinia when he finished fifth overall. Four times he retired, always as a result of going off the road.
