Petter Solberg completed a test session behind the wheel of a Grande Punto S2000 this week, "with a view to participating in a few international rallies" indicated an Abarth press release. The Norwegian was pleased with the car at the conclusion of his test runs last Wednesday and showed interest in the specifications of the Super 2000 class. The Intercontinental Rally Challenge fronts S2000 cars; the "international rallies" the Abarth team referred to might therefore indicate a possible participation of Solberg in an IRC event this year, in which the Italian firm is active.
