•Latvala leads after four stages
•Sebastien Loeb continues after rolling over and losing 4 minutes
•Chris Atkinson loses 15 minutes
Ford's Jari-Matti Latvala is the man to set pace at the moment in Udeholm Swedish Rally. The finn had a good advantage in the starting position, the snow from the track being swept off by the drivers in front. He has won all the three stages that were run so far, being first in the overall with 23 seconds ahead of team-mate Mikko Hirvonen.
The fourth special stage proved to be the most dramatic so far, many pilots having trouble. One of those was Sebastian Loeb who went through a roll after hitting a snow bank, but he managed to get his car back in the race. The frenchman was worried about the car after the accident: "We damaged the clutch trying to get the car moving again. We'll see if we can get to the service, but right now it doesn't look so good."
Chris Atkinson has lost about 15 minutes after his car spinned and remained stuck in a snow bank. The australian declared that he doesn't know what happened: "Something strange happened. I was on a medium speed section and was driving fairly cautiously when all of a sudden I lost it. We’re going to have a look at the data to find out what went wrong".
Norwegian Mads Ostberg, who held fourth place after SS2, was another spinner on the day’s second test. “We spun in a narrow section between some snow banks and turned the car around completely,” said Ostberg. “The car was okay but it took us 30 seconds to get it facing the right direction”.
Locals' favourite P-G Andersson had to retire because his Suzuki SX4 WRC stopped two kilometres before the stage end with an engine problem.
