Citroen Racing Trophy at Sibiu Rally Show
The race for 2010 season has started
Alex Filip did some show at the last auto competition in 2009. Pilot 79 managed to reach the podium once again during his last race with the Citroen C2 R2 model.
Alex Filip finished season 2009 with a podium qualification in Sibiu Rally Show. Alex Filip started the race in force and after the three races of the first competition round he finished with the best time in group A. “Sibiu Rally Show is a friendly competition, but the fight was tighten every race of the round. We easily managed to finish the first round, but hard times are coming from now on”, said Alex Filip, after the first three track races in Sibiu Rally Show.
In the quarter of finals, Alex Filip finished having the third time, after Edwin Keleti and Dani Ungur, and ensured his position in the Sibiu Rally Show semi finals. Here, the Citroen C2 R2 model showed its limits once again. Alex Filip lost the duel with Edwin Keleti and missed the chance to fight for the first place. “It was a much disputed fight, but the Citroen C2 R2 model cannot take more than that. The car works perfectly and I would like to thank over and over again Colina Motors team for that, and my time was as good as in the first round, but this is all the car can do. All I can hope to is that next year we will compete with a C2 R2 Max and only then we will have chances to the title and winning this competition”, said Alex Filip.
In the small finals, Alex Filip had no problem in racing Rares Tomita, who also abandoned during the first race, so Alex finished his last race this year and the last one with the Citroen C2 R2 model on the 3rd position, performance rewarded by Citroen Racing Trophy Romania with 800 Euro. “I believe this was the most beautiful edition of Sibiu Rally Show. There were so many spectators, such a beautiful weather, a lot of rally cars at the start line and amazing duels on the track. I would like to congratulate the winners and I can’t wait for the 2010 season to start. For us, the most difficult period is to start; we will try to raise the budget we need. I can only hope our traditional sponsors will be continue supporting us and that in 2010 we will take the start in the Romanian Rally Championship with a more powerful car”, added Alex Filip.
In 2009, crew Alex Filip/Bogdan Iancu was supported by: Orange Romania, Citroën Romania, Michelin, Computerland, Radcom, Coza Advertising, Cefin, Converse and Colina Motors.
