Yazeed Al-Rajhi scored the first victory for a Super 2000 cars in the Middle East when he won the MERC championship Syrian Rally in his Peugeot 207. It is also the first international rally win abroad for a Saudi driver for 13 years. Yazeed finished ahead of Misfer Al-Marri (Subaru) who now leads the MERC series.

Roman Kresta (Peugeot) won the Czech championship Agrotec Mogul Rally Hustopece, beating his arch rival Vaclav Pech (Mitsubishi). Many drivers went off the road in the prevailing wet conditions.

VW Polo S2000s came first and second in the Rally of South Africa, based at Ermelo, in the hands of Fekken and Habig, with Toyotas finishing third and fourth.

Erik Wevers won the second round of the European Rally Challenge, the Thuringen Rally in Germany, in his Focus World Rally Car.
