Notwithstanding the withdrawal of Suzuki from world rally championship activities, Suzuki Sport Europe continues to support the Junior World Rally Championship with a three car entry. Polish driver Michal Kosciuszko, highest placed non-Citroen driver in the 2008 series, stays in the team, this time alongside former Citroen driver Aaron Burkart (second in the 2008 JWRC) and former Renault privateer Simone Bertolotti. Bertolotti normally drove a Clio R3 in 2008 but drove a Super 1600 in Germany. Burkart and Bertolotti start their season at Rally Ireland, Kosciuszko in Cyprus.
