In times of economic depression Dunlop and SEAT are the constant

Being for the first time in the national championship in 2006, the Tara Barsei "Dunlop SEAT" Rally has already become a well known event in romanian rallying, being now at its fourth edition. Along with the name Tara Barsei Rally the names of Dunlop and SEAT, who have supported this event from its very first edition, have become a traditional association and the two supporters of this rally are once again there to help the organisers, CS Autoblic Brasov. Magnolia Shopping Center and Espavo are also two sponsors that have remained close to the event and continue to give their support.

Rallying in Romania is facing a crisys at the moment and the organizers have thought about shortening the itinerary and helping the competitors with a light edition in 2009. The organising club's president, Bela Stoica has said: "It's a tough season for everybody, so the rally will be a short one, covering just three days including recce, scrutineering, shakedown and 115 km of stages. I believe that this formula will be apreciated by the competitiors in the middle of this economic depression".

The Tara Barsei "Dunlop SEAT" Rally is designed to offer both a day of great gravel stages on Saturday and a big show in the city on both Friday and Sunday.
The rally will comence with a Superspecial Stage in the heart of the city in Brasov, called Brasov Rally Show, thanks to the help of mayor George Scripcaru and the local authorities. The racing cars passing under the mayor's window will remind of the Grand Prix of Brasov, a race that took place between 1932 and 1936 and which was supported by Dunlop also.
Saturday will be run fully on gravel, the drivers returning to the Comandau and Barcani stages for spectacular but very hard 111 kilometers.
The end of the rally will offer a surprise that the organisers are keeping secret for now. A big show will take place that was conceived together with the sponsors.

Tara Barsei "Dunlop SEAT", the 6th round of the National Rally Championship Dunlop, will take place between 21 and 22th of August. The rally headquarters will be at Magnolia Shopping Center in Brasov.
