The Tara Basei Seat-Mobil 1 Rally starts on the stadium!
Included for the first time within the rally circuit in 2006 to “fill in the gap” in the FRAS calendar, the Tara Basei Seat-Mobil 1 Rally has been a real success for the audience and the pilots from its very first edition. The 2007 Edition offered to the macadam phase more importance within the Brasov shows– the first of the “good old” Brasov Rally Editions was organized on this kind of road surface. The 2008 auto-show counts as the 6th phase of an extremely tight competition. The phase from the end of August starts with a special stage that will take place on the stadium. The Sports High school Ion Tiriac Arena from the old centre of the city will host, on Friday, August 29th 2008, from 5 o’clock.
The 2nd Edition of the Brasov RALLY SHOW
Over 60 top pilots of the Romanian motor sports will take part in a special show stage (2.5 km length) in front of an audience that will certainly fill in the stands of the cosy Ion Tiriac Arena.
The rally will continue in the Covasna district on Saturday. The top pilots of the Romanian motor sports have came back in the spectacular scenery of the Covasna geographical area after 20 years (the latest National Rally phase “passed” on the <<Barcani >> special stage in the spring of 1998); the special stages will definitely
impress the pilots as well as the audience. Bela Stoica, the manager of the club that organizes the show, explains us why Covasna was his team’s choice:
“I must admit that we started organizing this phase under the pressure of the other two Brasov Rally symbolic stages being cancelled during this year spring show. When staring to work on organizing the Tara Barsei Seat – Mobil1 Rally show, entire team’s motto has been: “It is payback time”. We can not put behind the disappointment of the audience that showed up in a really outstanding number on Babarunca, we can not put behind the disappointment of the pilots that were forced to turn back from the stage start but first of all we can not put behind the cut into half results from the current general CNR top. This is why we have been looking for something new and we thought of Covasna - our revelation; we were sure this was exactly what we wanted and we started to work. The three special stages near the Covasna resort represent our make up for the events that took place in spring in Brasov. <<Comandau>> (12.4 km), « Zabratau » (29.9 km) are technical stages, spectacular, involving speed, and they stand for the show we all need: for the pilots, audience and organizers to…forget the past.”
After covering twice the three special stages, the pilots will return to Brasov and will spend the night in the parking area offered by Mgnolia Shopping Center (Racadau), the host of the Tara Brasei Seat-Mobil 1 Rally.
The third day of the rally consists in two special stages that will take place on the already famous <<Valea Azugii>>; the first one, <<Azuga>>, (24.8 km ), stars at the Sacele forest canton and ends in Azuga and the second one, « Predeal » (19.8 km) starts also at the forest canton from Sacele and ends in Predeal.
After an impressive rally race, all the pilots will be celebrated with champagne and special cups for different results inside the Magnolia Shopping Center, the host of the Tara Barsei Seat – Mobil 1 3rd Edition Rally. “We are glad to be the hosts of this event and especially to meet the best Romanian pilots. This edition of the Tara Barsei Seat – Mobil 1 Rally will definitely be a real success!” – said Laura Rusu Marketing Specialist Asset Management - Cushman & Wakefield Activ Consulting – the management company of Magnolia Shopping Center.
We have already spoken about hosts, but let’s also speak about the Tara Barsei Seat – Mobil 1 Rally supporting guests. For the third year in a row, the 6th CNR Brasov Phase will be supported by Seat Romania - a brand that has stared to be one with the Tara Barsei Rally since 2006. Believing that every next year can be better than the previous one, Bogdan Militaru, the brand director of Seat Romania, collaborated for the 3rd Rally edition with the Lubexpert Romania team. The Seat car that took the start in 2006 in the first edition of the Tara Barsei Rally has got now, in 2008, the Dunlop tires from the 2007 edition and quality oil – from Mobil 1.
“We are glad to be able to continue during the Brasov rally what we have begun in 2006 – being one of the main supporters of the rally means that 2006 was a good start and within the past two years we had a high standard collaboration. We are also glad that year after year more international prestigious companies have been joining us in the motor sport show” – declared Bogdan Militaru.
