Mikko Hirvonen was fastest on Wales Rally GB Shakedown at Penllergaer Forest. Hirvonen was just under a second faster in the Ford than Petter Solberg's Subaru over the 3 mile test. Citroen's Sebastien Loeb was 3rd fastest with his team-mate Dani Sordo 4th and Jari-Matti Latvala was fifth in his Ford Focus. Sebastien Ogier set tenth fastest driving a Citroen C4 WRC competitively for the first time, while Valentino Rossi in the Ford Focus 07 posted a time of 17th overall finishing ahead of Gareth Jones' Subaru. Meanwhile, Henning Solberg suffered suspension failure which resulted in him crashing the Team Expert Ford Focus into a tree.
