Subaru team refugee Petter Solberg has confirmed he will drive a Citroen Xsara WRC in his home event, Rally Norway (13-15 February), following tests with the car at the weekend. The 2003 world champion had already reserved an entry for himself and his regular codriver Phil Mills before entries finally closed but without specifying the type of car. He will however miss Rally Ireland, the opening round of the 2009 series. Petter's erstwhile Subaru teammate Chris Atkinson had already been entered for Rally Ireland in a Citroen Junior team C4 WRC, but has currently no drive in Norway. Mills said their car was to be a 2006 model and said it will be run by Petter's private team. "Although this is a three-year old car, it still promises to be competitive package. After Norway is over, it will give time to consider what comes next".
